The
wise man, Saadi of Shiraz, was walking along a road with his disciple
when he saw a man trying to get his mule to move. When the animal
refused to budge, the man began calling him the worst names he could
think of. 'Don't be silly,' said Saadi. 'The mule will never learn your
language. You would do better to calm down and learn his language.' And
as he walked away, he remarked to his disciple: 'Before you get into an
argument with a mule, remember the scene you have just witnessed.'
