    Halaan ke shehar bhar se adaawat usey bhi thi

    Wo mujh se barh ke zabt ka aadi tha gee gaya
    Warna har ek saans qayamat usey bhi thi

    Sunta tha wo bhi sab se purani kahaniyan
    Shayad rafaqaton ki zaroorat usey bhi thi

    Tanha hua safar mein to mujhe par khula ye raaz
    Saaye se pyar dhoop se nafrat usey bhi thi

    Mohsin main us se keh na saka haal-e-dil
    Dar-paish ek taaza museebat usey bhi thi

    Uski hansi ne to aaj mujhe bhi rula diya,

    lehje se uth raha tha har ik dard ka dhuaan,
    chehra bata raha tha ke kuch ganwa diya,

    aawaz mein thehrao tha aankhoon mein nami thi,
    Aur keh raha tha ke mein ne sab kuch bhula diya,

    Jane kya us ko logon se thi shikayatein,
    Tanhaiyon ke desh mein khud ko basa diya,

    Khud bhi woh hum se bichar kar adhura sa ho gaya,
    Uujh ko bhi itne logon mein tanha bana diya...
