    Khuli jo ankh to woh tha na woh zamaana tha,
    Dehkti aag thi tanhai thi fasaana tha,

    Yeh kya chand hi qadmon par thak ke baith gaye,
    Tumhein to saath mera dur tak nibhaana tha,

    Mujhe jo mere lahoo mein dubo ke guzra hai,
    Woh koi gair nahi yaar ek puraana tha,

    Khud apne hi haath se uss ko kaat diya,
    Ke jis darakht ki tehni pe ashiyaana tha...
